Let's Get You Started!
So, hopefully now you have a good understanding of what Flipped Learning is, including its advantages (and some of the challenges), you have followed a (not so Tech savvy) teacher in her quest to 'Flip' a few classrooms, and are feeling confident enough to try your hand at a few activities to get your flipping started. If you have not had the chance to, are not confident about your understanding of the pros and cons, or the theory and tips of Flipped Learning, then we suggest that you go back over these things before having a go at these activities.
Activity 1: If you haven't got one already, create a Google account.
A Google account will allow you to access our Flipping Teachers' Google+ community page and create a Google form.
Activity 2: Follow our Flipping Teachers Google+ community page and post a YouTube video on Flipped Learning to the Flipped Learning YouTube category on the left hand side.
Our Google+ community page is the place to share information, tools, suggestions, or exemplars of powerful Flipped Learning.
Activity 3: Create a free Screencast-O-Matic account to allow you to begin screen capturing your Flipped Learning videos.
For a brief overview of this tool, please refer to our General Tools for Flipped Learning page.
Activity 4: Complete our Google Form.
Activity 5: Search for and watch a YouTube clip of a high-quality video on creating Google Forms, then create one yourself, with two questions that you still have about Flipped Learning. Post a link to the form to our Google+ Community on the Discussion & Google Form Links page.
Google Forms can be used to introduce an interactive element to your Flipped Learning lessons. For more information on Google Forms, please refer to our General Tools for Flipped Learning page.
Activity 6 (optional): Write a (very) short reflective post about the experience of completing these activities and share it to our Google+ community page on the Flipped Learning Reflection page.
